PRESENT SIMPLE (1)

THE  PRESENT SIMPLE IS USED IN THE FOLLOWING CASES:

*Regular or habitual actions for example: I get up at six a.m., I take a shower,brush my teeth,comb my hair and have breakfast.

*General Present: My brother lives in Cancún and sister goes to High School.

*Routinary activities: I always check my e-mails at night.

*Common sense ideas or general truths: You cash a check in the bank. Cars use gasoline. Water boils at 100 celsius degrees.

*To talk about feelings or emotions:I'm awfully sick, my stomach hurts and I want to go home.

*There are some changes in 3rd. person ( he,she & it ):She works for Japan Airlines, but she doesn´t speak Japanese. She studies Gastronomy, but she never tastes food. My chases the cats after.

*To talk about personal characteristics:She plays the piano very well.

*To talk about likes and dislikes: I like black coffee, but I don´t like black  tea.

*To talk about something which is always true: Vegetarians don´t eat meat.

*To talk about something which is true for a long time: He works as a pilot.

*To talk about customs,traditions or habits: In my country,men drink Tequila, like Mariachi and dance.

*You use the auxiliary Do or Does for questions and short answers.

*You use the  forms don´t or doesn´t to make the negative, or to provide negative short answers.
