COURSE CONTENT & STRUCTURE

GENERAL AVIATION ENGLISH COURSE:

The General Aviation English Language elements of the training aim to enhance general confidence in all 4 skills to reach or overcome the Level 4, through extensive practice.

The training elements include the following:

*Alphabet and phonetics.

*Basic tenses to high level of accuracy (past, present, present continuous and future tenses ) and accurate use of time expressions and prepositions.

*Modal Verbs to express; possibilty,feasibility,probabilty,orders,reprimand,protocol,advice,offers and requests.

*Conditionals for consequences, plans,hypothetical situations and regrets.

*Numbers , figures (height,altitude,meters,feet, duration and schedules).

*ATIS REPORTS (listening and notes taking).

*Briefings (oral expression & self-confidence) through speech delivery.

*VIDEOS (aviation incidents & accidents analisis and panel discussion) visual learning.

*Reading (pronunciation,word stress and intonation)

*Readbacks; checking, clarifying,repeating,asking for repeatition and requests.

*Instructions;orders,clearances and follow-ups.

*Aviation Terminology;abbreviations,acronyms,synonyms and opposites.

*Roleplays; during: briefings information exchange at reading flight charts.

*Problem Solving and decision-making.

*Question Formulation ( question building of direct and/or indirect questions) using plain English.

*Prepositions to denote space,location, movement, position and distance.

*IDIOMS & AVIATION JARGON.

We focus particularly in numerous case studies where the use of incorrect or non-standard language has either led to disasters or has exacerbated situations that might have been solved through effective communication.
